Discount in token tax: Rush increases in excise offices

LAHORE: Citizens are flocking to Excise Motor branch office Lahore as the Punjab government has offered special discount of 10 percent in token tax for the owners of vehicles.

On Monday, huge rush witnessed in Excise office of Motor branch situated at Fareed Kot House. People were waiting for their turn in long queues to pay their tax before it increase once again.

Excise and Taxation department of Punjab has offered special cut in token tax fee up to 31st July, 2015.

Government has imposed a tax of Rs 10,000 for vehicles less than 1000 cc which is a life time token tax. Vehicles more than 1000 cc and less than 1300 cc Rs 1800 for the token tax, vehicles more than 1300 cc and less than 1500 cc amount of Rs 6000.  From 1500 to 2000 cc Rs 9000. More than 1000 cc vehicles are levied to pay their tax every year.

After special discount by Excise owners of vehicles can get their token tax sticker by paying 10 percent less than the above mentioned rates.
