ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate has taken notice of preparing weak cases by Preventive Inspectors and directed them that cases should not be filed without concrete evidence.

The Model Customs Collectorate has the view that weak cases not only waste time but also make them ashamed before the Adjudication. The Preventive staff makes a case on daily basis but they lose it for not presenting the case properly. Therefore, they have been directed that they should properly check documents whenever they seize goods on roads. This step has been taken to avoid wastage of time because both Customs and IR are facing manpower shortage. Now only those cases would be presented in Adjudication which have strong witnesses and evidences.
