Dubai Customs to celebrate National Day on 28th

DUBAI: Dubai Customs is set to celebrate UAE’s 42nd National Day on Nov 28, by a number of different events at Dubai Customs’ main building and the emirate’s 20 land, sea and air Customs centres.

Ahmed Butti Ahmed, Executive Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Director General of Dubai Customs, extends his warmest greetings and sincere congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.

He also congratulated the people of the UAE; citizens, residents and visitors of the country on this highly cherished occasion.

The Department’s celebrations of the occasion will feature a variety of events for employees. The director-general of Dubai Customs will address employees and deliver a speech on the memorable milestones over the period of 42 years, the leading role that the founding fathers of the UAE played and the great achievements made in the past few years.

The celebrations will commence with a military parade performed by Dubai Customs inspectors. Other events include a heritage act performed by school students, traditional UAE games and horse cavalry march. In addition, the UAE flag will be taken down of the top of the building and implanted by employees on the shape of “We are all Emirates”.

At the entrance of the building, a miniature heritage village will be put together that will encompass folk kiosks that gives an ample glimpse on the great past of the UAE. Emarati popular food will be for sale and local handmade products and craft works will be displayed.
