Eid & summer vacations: Customs Tribunal to remain close till July 26

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal will resume the hearing of cases after July 26, 2016, as a notification has been issued for summer vacations and Eid holidays.

As per details, the Customs Tribunal chairman issued the notification in this regard. The members will enjoy Eid holidays from July 5 to 8 (Tuesday-Friday), while the tribunal will be closed on July 9-10 due to routine holidays of Saturday and Sunday.

All benches of Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta will remain close for the fifteen days due to summer vocation.

On July 26, the tribunal will hear the case of Askar Oil Services versus Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation and others.

Meanwhile, the Customs Appellate Tribunal divisional bench-II adjourned as many as eight cases until August 2, 2016.

According to the details, Judicial Member Omer Arshad Hakeem, Technical Member Khawaja Omer Mehdi adjourned all cases, including Multan Customs versus Kakub Enterprises, Nazar Hussain versus Multan Customs, Ali Shan versus Multan Customs and Abdul Ali versus Lahore Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

The bench also adjourned the cases of Baz Muhammad versus Lahore Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Advance International versus Lahore Customs, Zeshan Afzal versus Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Muhammad Zaman versus Lahore Customs Intelligence and Investigation.
