Eleven FBR senior officers leave for US to participate in four-day training workshop

ISLAMABAD: A group of eleven (11) senior officers from Pakistan Customs Services of the Federal Board of Revenue, including Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Shaukat Ali, recently appointed Collector Hyderabad Ikhlaq Ahmed Khattak, Collector Preventive Lahore Chaudhary Zulfiqar and Yaqoob Mathew, will participate in the four-day training workshop to be held at Washington DC, United State of America.

Member Customs FBR Muhammad Zahid Khokhar was also included in the list but due to heavy budget engagements, he decided to withdraw his name from the list. The officials of the FBR have left for USA on Saturday, 22nd of April. The workshop will be held from 24th to 27th of April 2017 on the subject of “Counter Proliferation Investigation Method “ and this has been arranged by the United State Homeland Security.

Afghan route closure weighs on Pakistan-Central Asia trade, exports fall 9%, imports plunge 88%

The purpose of this workshop is to train the Pakistani Customs, especially Customs Intelligence officers, to prevent the smuggling of nuclear materials from Russian states to other countries through Pakistan. Besides training on the counter proliferation, Pakistan needs latest technology to prevent the smuggling of nuclear materials.

During this visit, Pakistani customs officers will talk to the U.S.A Homeland Authority to equip the Pakistani customs with the latest technology in this regard.
