NAB initiates inquiry against Islamia University officials for alleged corruption of Rs 70m

MULTAN: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB)  has initiated an inquiry against officials of Islamia University Bahawalpur on charges of embezzlement. The university has awarded several contracts worth over Rs 70 million to M/s Mascot Limited Faisalabad in one day by ignoring all rules and regulations.

During the initial investigations, it was revealed that the university administration under hidden motives and by engaging into favoritism has deliberately violated all rules and regulations in rewarding of these contracts. The NAB during their initial inquiry came to know that use of sub-standard material has also been revealed in execution of contracts.
