KARACHI: The Enforcement-South Collectorate has collected customs duty of Rs 1868.08 million in December 2014 against target of Rs 2008.50 million with a shortfall of Rs 140.42 million.
The Enforcement-South comprises of Model Customs Collectorates (MCC) of Preventive, Hyderabad, Exports, Exports (Port Qasim), Quetta and Gwadar.
According to details, the MCC-Preventive collected Rs 1341.64 million customs duty in December 2014 against its set target of Rs 1330.30 million with an increase of Rs 11.34 million.
The MCC-Hyderabad collected Rs 279.74 million customs duty in December 2014 against its set target of Rs 552.63 million with a shortfall of Rs 272.89 million.
The MCC-Export collected Rs 463.21million in share of customs duty in December against the set target of Rs 485.59 million with a shortfall of Rs 22.38 million.
The Export (Port Qasim) collected Rs 76.29 million customs duty in December 2014 against its set target of Rs 452.84 million with a decrease of Rs 376.55 million.
Furthermore, the MCC-Quetta collected Rs 122.10 million in share of Custom Duty in December 2014 against its set target of Rs 59.64 million with a massive increase of Rs 62.46 million.
Meanwhile, the MCC-Gwadar has collected an amount of Rs37.94million in share of customs duty in December 2014 against its set target of Rs 33.18 million with an increase of Rs4.76million.
Enforcement-South Chief Collector Muhammad Nazim Saleem lauded the efforts of the authorities concerned of all the relevant collectorates and asked them to speed up the revenue collection in terms of customs duty in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2014-15 with a view to attain the revenue target set by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
