KARACHI: Cameron Munter, former US ambassador to Pakistan, has termed some local politicians and businessmen black sheep who ‘create hurdles’ in making Pakistan a prosperous country.
While addressing a seminar titled ‘One Belt, One Road’, Munter said that some politicians and businessmen in Pakistan don’t want development of the country, but “I am optimistic about the country and see its future bright.”
He said that there is no lack of talent in this country, however, the youths are barred from going ahead. While talking about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said that the project would not only boost the importance of Pakistan internationally but also help benefit other countries in the region.
Munter said that Generals were interested in war while diplomats in diplomatic field. Fear exists in the world about the stability in Pakistan, he added. “When I was in Pakistan, I would deliberate on the security situation for hours,” he said.
