LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has conducted an operation against defaulters of property tax in the city.
Excise Director Iqbal Nasir has sealed 286 properties in different areas of the city. Excise recovered Rs 3 million from defaulters after sealing different buildings. Recovered amount of Rs 3 million has been submitted in the national exchequer.
Director Excise had given directions in this regard after which Secretory Excise Ali Tahir constituted different teams under the supervision of ETO’s. The teams raided in many areas and checked documents of the defaulters.
The department is still conducting operations to find tax defaulters. There are thousands of property tax defaulters in Lahore. Most of the buildings are located in Faisal Town, Johar Town and Garden Town.
