Excise seizes documents of 280 vehicles in drive against token tax defaulters

LAHORE: The Motor Branch of the Excise and Taxation Department has seized documents of 280 vehicles in previous week.
The department started special crackdown against token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles since the start of the year and special teams are working in this regard.
Sources told Customs Today that Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal has directed Suhail Arshad, Director Motor Branch to form ten special teams for the recovery of token tax from defaulters. These teams are working in different areas of the city.
Excise teams established checkpoints in Shahdra, Jail Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Barki Road and Ferozepur Road to aware people to clear their token tax as soon as possible.
Excise Motor Branch Director Suhail Arshad directed field staff to keep eye on defaulters and guide them about new token tax system and stickers for their vehicles.
