Punjab Excise Dept collects 10.6b tax in first 6 months

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department collected Rs 10.6 billion tax in first six months of the fiscal year of 2014-15.

The Excise Dept collected 47 percent of the target in first six months of the year. The collection of the total tax is Rs 10.6 billion which is 10 percent more than the first six months of fiscal year of 2013-14. The Excise and Taxation Department collected Rs 1 billion extra as compare to the last half of the year 2013-14.
The department has good recoveries in the field of motor registration, property tax, professional tax and cotton fee. The Property Tax collected by the Department is more than 53 percent up to end of the December which is 9 percent more than the same period of the fiscal year 203-14.
