Excise Dept seizes drugs worth Rs 5 million from Shahdara

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department seized a huge cache of heroin and chars worth Rs 5 million from a drug den in Shahdara town.

On special directions of Excise and Taxation Director Iqbal Nasir, the team raided the drug den and arrested three drug sellers. Those arrested were identified as Muhammad Shahid, Omer Dilshan and Imran. The drugs recovered are worth Rs 5 million.

Customs Today learnt that the special team under the supervision of Inspector Javed Akhtar, Qamar Shah and Excise and Taxation Officer Lateef Anjum raided on the drug den and seized 500gm of fine-quality heroin, injections and other narcotics as well.

A case has been registered against the accused and further interrogation is underway. The officials are raiding other place to arrest the accomplices of the drug pushers.
