LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department employees have rejected the enhancement of 7.5 percent in their salaries for the fiscal year of 2015-16.

The government employees have termed the pay raise, which has been approved in the provincial budget 2015-16, insufficient and unsatisfactory.

The employees say that the provincial budget has not only disappointed the civil servants but also irked the government officials.

The officials said that this is the smallest raise the employees have been given by the present government. They said that prices of utility items have increased and such a paltry raise is not enough.

The employees have demanded the government grant a raise of at least 20 percent to 25 percent. They further urged the government to put an end to the series of mini-budgets after the announcement of the federal budget.
