Excise forms eight special teams to check token tax defaulters

LAHORE: Excise and Taxation Department Motor Branch Punjab formed eight special teams for recovery of token tax from the defaulters.

Sources told Customs Today, that just after the end of rebate period Excise Motor Branch decided to take strict action against defaulters who are failed to pay token tax even during one month of 5 percent rebate. Rebate period on token tax ended from 1st of October, 2015.

According to the Excise officials, these teams are working in different areas of the city to take action against token tax defaulters. After relaxation period of one month, the Excise Motor Branch formed special teams for the recovery of taxes and to aware citizens about their dues.

These newly formed teams started establishing checkpoints in different areas of the city.

Excise teams forms their checkpoints at Shahdra Tool Plaza, Jail Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Barki Road and Ferozpur Road to create awareness among people to clear their outstanding token tax as soon as possible.

Excise Motor Branch Director Suhail Arshad directed field staff to keep keen eye on defaulters and guide them about new token tax system.
