Excise receives Rs 8.2 million from Punjab Police

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has received a cheque of Rs 8.2 million from the Punjab Police for registration of vehicles and token tax.

According to high official of the excise motor branch, the police paid this amount against the registration of the vehicles being used by the quick response unit, while the department has also delivered number plates of 300 vehicles.

On other hand, more than 300 heavy bikes of newly formed Dolphin Force are still unregistered. The excise officials informed that the Lahore police has assured that further amount for the registration of heavy bikes of Dolphin Force will be issued soon.

It may mention here that Customs Today earlier reported that more than 700 vehicles of police are token tax defaulter and the police was not paying taxes despite issuance of notice repeatedly.
