Excise recovers 1kg heroin; arrests three, including policeman

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department in different raids against drug dealers and manufacturers has recovered a huge quantity of heroin and other toxic drugs.
According to Excise and Taxation Officer Lateef Anjum, on special directives of Director General Ahmad Aziz Tarar, campaign against the drug mafia was continuing.

According to Lateef Anjum, a team under his supervision raided in Nawankot area and seized a huge quantity of heroin from an accused, Muhammad Tanveer. The seized drug is worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
In another action in Shahdara area, the excise recovered a good number of toxic injections from a police constable who was involved in selling these injection in Shahdara and Data Darbar areas. Other drugs were also seized by excise officials during raids in Data Darbar and Factory Area of Kot Lakhpat.
The department has registered cases against Muhammad Tanveer, Haroon and the police constable in their respective police stations.
Excise teams consisted of ETO Lateef Anjum, Inspector Waqas Aslam and Muhammad Javed.
