Excise seals 125 properties on tax evasion in Lahore, Kasur

LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 125 properties in different areas of Lahore and Kasur.

Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal directed the all the excise directors of the regions to deploy special teams to check the property tax defaulters.

The department issued many notices to thousands of defaulters to pay their outstanding property tax with fine. The sealed property owners remained failed to submit their property tax. Now, the Excise Department has decided to take stern action against these property tax defaulters besides imposing fine on them. In this regard, the department sealed a plaza on Barki Road which was later unsealed when the owners deposited the tax amount.

The department had also started a special media campaign to inform the defaulters about their tax liabilities. According to district excise officers of Lahore and Kasur, the owners of the sealed properties had failed to pay their dues even after receiving many notices.

Excise Kasur has seized properties in Kasur city, Kundian, Chunian and Lahore road including many warehouses, workshops and factories.

The excise Lahore teams sealed properties in different areas of the city.
