Excise seals 7,100 properties during six months

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed over 7,100 properties in different cities during the  first six months (July-December) of the current fiscal year.

The excise has started crackdown against defaulters of property tax, token tax and professional tax since the start of running fiscal year.

According to the details, the teams on the special directions of Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal sealed these properties in Lahore, Kasur and Shiekhpura districts. The department has also recovered millions of rupees during the crackdown.

The Excise has giving special attention to property taxes, as its recovery was not according to the set targets but it has a huge share in the whole collections.

The Punjab Excise is receiving property tax with one percent. The officials said that the grand operation will be continued against defaulters to recover taxes.
