Excise seals 79 propeties, impounds 79 vehicles during action against defaulters

SIALKOT: The Excise and Taxation Department has sealed 79 properties and impounded 48 vehicles due to non-payment of property, professional taxes and token taxes.

Sources informed Customs Today that Excise and Taxation Officer Muzaffar Qayyum constituted seven teams to take action against defaulters of property and professional taxes as well as token tax of vehicles.

He said that during the operation, the excise teams sealed 79 properties of various citizens, including politicians, bureaucrats and exporters whereas teams impounded 48 vehicles, including cars, vans, rickshaws, flying coaches etc due to non payment of property and professional taxes and token taxes.

He said the properties and vehicle will be restored and release when defaulters will clear outstanding taxes. He said the operation against defaulter will continue till June 30,2016.
