Excise seizes documents of 100 vehicles on token tax default in two days

LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department Motor Branch seized documents of 100 vehicles on Monday and Tuesday. The Excuse Punjab formed special teams for the recovery of token tax from defaulters.

According to the Excise officials, these teams were working in different areas of the City to take action against defaulters. The crackdown was started after instructions of director general Akram Ashraf Gonfal. These excise teams have started establishing checkpoints in different areas of the City.

On Monday Excise teams established checkpoints at Shahdara Tool Plaza, Jail Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Barki Road and Ferozepur Road to aware people to clear their token tax as soon as possible.

Excise Motor Branch Director Suhail Arshad directed field staff to keep keen eye on defaulters and guide them about new token tax system and stickers for their vehicles. Excise action against defaulters is likely to continue in coming days.
