LAHORE: The motor branch of the Excise and Taxation Department has seized documents of 78 token tax defaulter vehicles in a crackdown on Monday.
With the start of the last quarter for the current fiscal year, Excise Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal has directed all staff officers to take strict action against defaulters, officials said, adding that special crackdown has been started against token tax defaulters from April 1.
The motor branch director has formed ten special teams for the recovery of token tax from defaulters. The teams are checking every vehicle in different areas, including Shahdara, Jail Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, Barki Road and Ferozepur Road.
