Export Collectorate finalises report on authenticity of Export Oriented Units

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Export has finalized its working on authenticity of the Export Oriented Units, it is learnt here.

Collector Exports Dr Saifuddin Junejo had directed the officials to finalise the working related to the authenticity of the Export Oriented Units with regard to the cleared export consignments.

The collector had given the task to the deputy collectors to compile a detailed report in this regard. They completed their work and submitted a report to the collector.

It is pertinent to mention here that the officials of the Customs Export have completed their entire working within a month and scrutinized the working and authenticity of the Export Oriented Units.

It may also be mentioned here that the authorities of Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR were seized the export consignments due to the presence of anomalies in exporting documents, few days ago, adding that the authorities were also registered a case in this regard.

Following the said incident, the Collector Exports Dr Saifuddin Junejo was asked the authorities of the Collectorate to verify the authenticity of the EOUs, so that those anomalies in export consignments could be stopped.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Collector Dr Saifuddin Junejo was received directives from Federal Board of Revenue-FBR in connection with scrutinizing the veracity of Export Oriented Units (EOUs) adding that the collector- would submit the said report before the Chief Collector-Enforcement (South) Muhammad Zahid Khohar in few days.
