Exporters hail FBR’s decision to clear refund claims

SIALKOT: A large number of exporters of Gujranwala Division have hailed the decision of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to clear refund claims of up to Rs 5 million.

As per details, the FBR Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan has announced that the tax refund claims of exporters up to Rs 5 million will be paid until March 15, 2016 under the directions of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Sources told Customs Today that the refund cases were filed in bulk by the Sialkot exporters whereas the exporters from Gujranwala, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad have also filed the refund claims.

However, the refund cases had not been cleared for the last two years. Now the Federal Finance Minister has directed the FBR chairman to clear the refund claim of up to Rs 5 million in Gujranwala Division until March 15, 2016.
