FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Faisalabad adjourned the hearing of 62 seizure cases worth Rs 77.301 million during the first three months of the fiscal year 2016-17.
Sources told Customs Today that Faisalabad Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed has adjourned the hearing of three cases worth Rs 12.749 million pertaining to the seizures of various items. The cases were made by customs authorities. The collector directed the owners of the seized goods and their counsel to present their arguments during next hearing.
Furthermore, Additional Collector Beelamur Ramzan adjourned hearing f 25 cases worth Rs 23.935 million, while Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned 34 cases involving Rs 40.617 million.
Most of the adjourned seizure cases were detected and registered by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation, while few cases were made by the Anti-smuggling Organisation (ASO) Faisalabad.
The seizure cases pertaining to smuggled vehicles, mobile phones, base oil, tryes, tubes and auto parts were heard by the Customs Adjudication.
