Faisalabad Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir issues order-in-origin against Rana Textile Mills

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Faisalabad has issued order-in-original against Rana Textile Mills (Limited) Faisalabad.

Sources told Customs Today that during scrutiny of import data of Rana Textile Mills, it was revealed that the company availed undue benefits of SRO 450(1)/2001 while importing black sulpher.

Rana Textile Mills imported 296,000 kilograms of dyes but goods fall under appendix-B of the import policy order hence not entitled for their duty and taxes free importation and warehousing under SRO 450(1)2001.

Customs Adjudications says in its order that the respondent has also failed to produce any such verification from the ministry towards the genuineness of permission. So far in-spite of the fact that ample time has been given them to do so.

Therefore Customs Adjudication authorities decided to  impose penalty  of Rs 100000 is also imposed under sub clause 10A of clsuse 1 of section 156 of the customs act for unauthorised availing of the benefit of said SRO.
