Faisalabad Adjudication decides 41 cases of Rs 29.756m in March

FAISALABAD: The Customs Adjudication Faisalabad Camp Office disposed 41 various seizure cases after adjudicating involving Rs29.756 million during the month of March-2017.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed decided as many as 33 seizure cases forwarded by Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in their various anti smuggling activities. These cases were related to evasion of customs duty to the tune of Rs12.576 million during March. These seizure cases included foreign origin cloth, vehicles, tyres, auto parts and miscellaneous goods.

Whereas, Deputy Collector Asma Hameed settled different seizure cases in favor of tax department and issued Order in Originals (ONOs) in favour of taxpayers after adjudication process.

Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Saeed Asad decided 7 seizure cases of smuggled vehicles and others different brand items worth Rs13.180 million during March.

Furthermore, Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig decided only 1 seizure cases of Rs4million available for hearing in the Collectorate. Due to recent reshuffling in the Customs Collectorate hearing of seizure cases facing unnecessary delay in the Customs Adjudication.
