FAISALABAD: Deputy Collector Adjudication Asma Hameed has issued an Order-in-Original (OnO) in favor of the Anti-Smuggling Organization in Mianwali .
Sources told Customs Today that the ASO officials intercepted a Toyota Corolla car bearing registration No. W- 8162 (Sindh ) Model 1994 in white colour. The ASO asked the driver who was identified as Saidullah son of Faizullah to produce legal documents regarding possession of the car but he failed to provide any relevant documents.
the ASO team seized the vehicles and sent its number plate and chassis number to Forensic Science Laboratory. The laboratory report revealed that the chassis number tampered and bogus. In the light of the facts it was clear that the confiscated vehicles was smuggled into the country.
Muhammad Safdar Ali (inspector) appeared from the prosecution side and asserted that the seized vehicles fell under the ambit of section 2(s) of custom act 1969 which could not be redeemed on payments of duty and taxes. The respondents have nothing to defend against the allegation.
Therefore, Custom Adjudication Deputy Collector Asma Hameed issued Order-in-Originalin favour of the ASO Mianwali.
