Faisalabad ASO impounds Mitsubishi Lancer GLX worth Rs 1.5m

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) impounded a non-duty paid Mitsubishi Lancer GLX valued at Rs 1.5 million.

As per the details, the ASO team following the instructions of Faisalabad Collector Tauseef Ahmad Qureshi conducted an operation against non-duty paid vehicles in the region.

The ASO team intercepted a vehicle, Mitsubishi Lancer GLX, near Muhammadi Chowk, Faisalabad, and asked the driver, Abdul Waheed Masood, to produce the legal documents of the vehicle. However, he could not produce any documents relating to its legal import or lawful possession, on which the customs authorities impounded the vehicle considering it liable to confiscation under the prevailing customs law.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Zahid Raza Bukhari, Inspector Safdar Ali, Munir Ahmad, Muhammad Anwar, Liaquat Ali and others took party in the operation.
