Faisalabad ASO impounds non-duty paid Mazda Truck

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded a non-duty paid Mazda Mini Truck worth Rs 900,000 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 255,000.

The ASO team on information received through Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan intercepted a Mazda Mini Truck bearing Registration No LES-14-7434 near Shahkot Toll Plaza, Sheikhpura Road, Faisalabad for the verification of documents. The vehicle was coming from Lahore to Faisalabad.

The ASO team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joyia, Inspector Massod Saeed Chohan, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Muhammad Safdar Ali, Sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Liaqat Ali, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Javid, asked the driver named Muhammad Irfan to produce documents for the legal possession of the vehicle but he remained fail.

Therefore, the customs officials impounded the truck under Section 168 of Customs Act, 1969.
