Faisalabad ASO seizes 39,500 litres of diesel, oil tanker

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation Faisalabad has confiscated 39,500 litres of smuggled Iranian diesel, besides impounding the oil tanker being used for the transportation of the diesel valued at Rs 9.373 million.

The ASO team following credible information received through Assistant Collector Muhmmad Asim Awan established picket near Qasuria police check post to thwart the smuggling bid.

ASO officials intercepted an oil tanker bearing Registration No. TLJ-165 at check post and asked the driver to produce the documents showing the legal import of the Iranian diesel. The driver could not satisfy the officials due to not having any documents on which customs officials impounded the oil tanker containing 39,500 litres of diesel.

ASO staff comprising Superintendent Zahid Bukhari, Inspector Mehmood Ahmad Dogar, Muhammad Naeem and others participated in the raid.
