Faisalabad ASO seizes 570kg smuggled cloth

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) seized 570 kilograms smuggled cloth worth Rs 438,900 involving customs duty amounting to Rs 136,167 during an action.

Following information received through Model Customs Collectorate Additional Collector Saeed Asad regarding the smuggling of cloth to Faisalabad from Lahore through a bus bearing Registration No FDS-1176, Deputy Collector Rizwan Khan constituted a raiding team comprising Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joiya, Inspector Khalid Ashraf Noor, Safdar Ali, Ali Zahid, Sepoys Muhammad Ishfaq, Muhammad Naeem, Muhammad Yaseen, Javid Iqbal and Muhammad Ashraf.

The ASO team raided near motorway, Sargodha Road, Faisalabad and recovered smuggled cloth from the bus. The accused person Ajmal Khan and Ubaidullah was taken into custody. The case has been forwarded to the Customs Adjudication for further legal action.
