Faisalabad ASO seizes non duty paid goods, vehicle

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization seized miscellaneous goods worth Rs3950000 involving duty and taxes Rs2078456 in different operations during second week of December of Fiscal Year 217-18.

Sources told Customs Today that under the supervision of Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani the ASO team conducted various raids against the smugglers to curb the illegal business.

The ASO team, participating in these seizure operations, consisted of Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Umar Bhatti, Faizi Raza, Munir Ahmed, and Sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Liaqat Ali, Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah.

The ASO Mianwali team impounded Toyota Corolla car bearing registration no: UJ-799 worth Rs700000, Toyota Premio No: LT-313 Rs 600000, ASO Faisalabad confiscated Toyota Corolla no: LEH-17-4457, Anti- Smuggling Organization , Sargodha Toyota Hilux Surf registration no: PAA-374 worth Rs800,000 and other miscellaneous goods worth Rs1250000.

The ASO seized items with section contravened of Import and Export Control Act-1950 punishable under Section 156(i) 89(i) and 90 of the Custom Act 1969 and forwarded the cases to the Customs Adjudication further proceeding.
