Faisalabad ASO seizes non duty paid goods worth Rs13m during September

FAISALABAD: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered smuggled items worth Rs 13 million during the month of September 2018.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Asif Mehmood Jah formed many teams to foil smuggling attempts. These teams conducted various raids under the supervision of Deputy Collector Aneeqa Afzal which also included Superintendent Tanveer Raza Naqvi, Inspector Khalid Ashraf Noor, Hafiz Waqas, Shah Nawaz.

The ASO team successfully impounded three vehicle and recovered foreign origin betel nuts, Indian tea worth Rs102500, tyres, auto spare parts worth Rs 250000 which were brought into the country without payments of customs duty and taxes.

Sources said that the accused persons failed to produce any legal documents regarding possession of vehicles and items. Now ASO authorities forwarded these cases to customs adjudication.
