Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled cloth worth millions of rupees

FAISLABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Anti-Smuggling Organization Faisalabad seized the allegedly smuggled clothe worth millions of rupees.

As per detail, in pursuance of credible information received through Collector MCC, Faisalabad Collector, ASO team raided near the Azad Hakim Goods Transport Company, Jhang Road, Faisalabad and found foreign origin cloth.

The staff inquired about the owner of the subject cloth from the people present nearby, but no one claimed the ownership of the said cloth.

Therefore, ASO seized the clothe under section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 for violation of Section 2(s) read with SRO 566(I)/2005 dated 06.06.2005, Section 16, 18 of the Customs Act, 1969 and Section 3 of Sales Tax Act, 1990, Section 148 of Income Tax Ordinance 2001 read with Section 3 (1) 3 of Import & Export Control Act 1950, punishable under Section 156(1)89(i) of the Customs Act 1969 read with SRO 499(I)/2009 dated 13.06.2009 after completion of all the legal formalities.

ASO team including Superintendent Dilawar Hussain, Inspector Tanveerul Haq, Mehmood Dogar, Safdar Ali and others conducted the operation.
