Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs2m during first week of June

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) conducted various operations against smugglers and non-duty paid goods and recovered smuggled items worth Rs 2 million during first week of June 2016.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan constituted different ASO teams to curb smuggling. The ASO teams comprising Muhammad Saeed Akhtar Joiya  (superintendent), Masood Saeed Chohan, Abdul Jabbar, Safdar Ali (inspectors), Muhammad Ashraf, Liaquat Ali , Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah (sepoys).

These team seized two non-duty paid and tempered vehicles worth Rs 2 million. These vehicle were brought into the country without payment of custom duty and taxes.

The Faisalabad ASO after registering cases forwarded the same to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.
