Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 5.54m in third week of June

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Faisalabad conducted various operations against smugglers on the special instructions by Additional Collector Saeed Asad and recovered goods worth Rs 5.54 million during third week of June.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan Khan constituted a team to curb smuggling. The ASO team consisted of Saeed Akhtar Joiya (superintendent), Masood Saeed Chohan and Safdar Ali (inspectors), Muhammad Ashraf, Liaquat Ali, Israr Ahmad and Muhammad Abdullah (sepoys) seized smuggled cloth, non-duty paid tempered three vehicles worth Rs 5.35 million. The ASO team also confiscated different goods worth Rs 193,200. All these items were brought into the country without payment of custom duty and taxes.
