Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled tyres & tubes

FAISALABAD: Anti-Smuggling Organization foiled an attempt to smuggle foreign origin tyres and tubes during an action on Monday.

According to details, Additional Collector ASO Muhammad Saeed Asad received credible information that foreign origin tyres and tubes with flap are being smuggled to Faisalabad.

He immediately constituted a team including Assistant Collector Shah Samad Hamadani, Inspector Asghar Mehdi Naqvi, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Shaukat Khan, Mahmood Ahmed Dogar, Amir Mumtaz Bajwa and others.

The above-mentioned ASO team intercepted a trailer bearing registration no: C-1424 Bonair and recovered foreign origin tyres and tubes.

The ASO team asked the driver who was identified as Bilal to produce documents regarding the possession and transportation of these items but he failed to provide any relevant documents.

After his failure, the ASO team seized the tyres and tubes with flap under section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 for violation of Section 2(S) 16 and 18 of the Customs Act 1969.

ASO authorities after registering a case of smuggling against driver started further investigations.
