Faisalabad Collector Zulfiqar personally monitors anti-smuggling measures at airport

FAISALABAD: Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary has paid surprise visit to Faisalabad International Airport and personally monitored the Customs staff, posted at the airport to curb smuggling of foreign currencies and gold.

On the directives of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the Faisalabad Collector has taken some special measures to control smuggling of foreign currencies as well as gold at the airport.

Zulfiqar Ali has also transferred some Customs staff and deployed experienced officials at the airport with clear directions to curb smuggling of currency and gold through international flights especially departing for and arriving from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Sharja and Dubai.

Moreover, the Collector also directed the Deputy Collector Airport to devise a comprehensive plan covering all the aspects to curb any possible attempt of smuggling of currency and gold outside the country. He instructed the officer to pay surprise visits to ensure that no malpractices take place at Faisalabad International Airport.
