FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication adjourned hearing of 53 seizure cases worth Rs88.279 million during month of December 2016.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed adjourned the hearing of four cases involving amount worth Rs11.095 million regarding seized items. These items consisted of vehicles, ladies fabrics, baby shoes, televisions, mobile phones and remote controls.
Sources said that Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan adjourned hearing of 15 cases involving amount of Rs37.799 million, while Deputy Collector Asma Hameed adjourned 34 cases involving amount Rs39.385 million.
The seizures were made by the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations as well as the Customs Anti-smuggling Organisation (ASO).
The Customs adjudication department has expedited their process of hearing of pending cases on priority basis.
