Additional Collector Beelam-ur-Ramzan issues ONO against non-duty paid vehicle

FAISALABAD: Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Beelam-ur-Ramzan issued Order-in-Original (ONO) against non-duty paid vehicle and directed to impound the same.

According to details, the Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) team intercepted a Toyota Noah bearing registration No: LES- 12-7715. The driver who was identified as Ali Akbar Son of Muhammad Rafique a resident of Jaranwala, Faisalabad, failed to provide any legal documents, regarding possession of the vehicle, to the ASO team. The ASO team impounded the vehicle and forwarded the case to the Customs Adjudication.

The forensic report of the vehicle stated as “A Toyota Noah bearing registration No: LES-12-7715, chassis No: AZR600208696, horse power 1998-CC, model 2003, color about White, the number frame found cut and welded means original chassis number has been cut away and a bogus chassis number is being used”.

Superintendent Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Abdul Jabbar, Safdar Ali, Naseer Ahmed, Bashir Hussain, Intelligence Officer Masood Saeed Chouhan and Ali Zahid appeared before the customs adjudication, while no one appeared from the respondent’s side.

As no one appeared before the court to defend the case, Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Beelam-ur-Ramzan issued an ONO to impound the vehicle under clause 14 of Section 156(1), 157(1) and (2) of the Customs Act, 1969.
