Faisalabad Customs Adjudication orders to impound Toyota Hiace

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam Ramazan declared the confiscation of Toyota Hiace as lawful while issuing Order-in-Original in favour of the Pakistan Customs.

As per details, the staff of Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) intercepted the vehicle bearing Registration No. LWC-4674 coming from Shorkot to Jhang near Buhadar Shah road, Jhang. The team asked the driver named Muhammad Afzal to produce the documents regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the said vehicle but he could not produce the documents.

Therefore, the officials impound the vehicle under Section 168 (1) of the Custom Act, 1969 and sent the case to the adjudication for further legal action.

The prosecution alleged that the seized vehicle is smuggled one and brought into the country without payment of duty and taxes by violating the customs laws, while the respondent could not defend the allegations.

The Customs Adjudication additional collector after hearing the arguments ordered to impound the vehicle.
