FAISALABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication recovered Rs 26.795 million after concluding different seizure cases during the October 2016.
Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Adjudication decided almost 24 smuggling cases during the said period. It issued Order-in-Originals (ONOs) in all cases in favour of the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Jhang, Sara-e-Muhajir and Customs Intelligence and Investigation.
The department heard cases of smuggled oil, cloth, tea auto parts, Iranian diesel, Rani juice, LCDs, LEDs, remote, receivers, mobile phones ,old and used machinery, children shoes, grey fabric, used laptop, different kind of vehicles, whey powder, sulphate, yarn, almonds, and other miscellaneous items.
Collector Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed decided 1 case involving Rs 7.685 million, hile Additional Collector Beelam ur Ramzan settled 6 cases involving Rs 9.290 million. Deputy Collector Asma Hameed decided 17 cases involving Rs 9.820 million and announced decision in favour of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, and ASO during the said period.
Moreover, the adjudication officials ordered to impound vehicles and other items under the Custom Act, 1969.
Meanwhile, the Customs Adjudication decided almost 79 smuggling cases involving customs duty and taxes to the tune of Rs 84.525 million during the first four months of current financial year 2016. It issued all ONOs in favour of the department.
According to details, Customs Adjudication Collector Raja Tahir Majeed settled 5 cases involving Rs 32.602 million, while Additional Collector Beelam Ur Ramzan decided 16 cases involving Rs 26.079 million. Deputy Collector Asma Hameed solved 58 cases involving Rs 25.844 million.
