FAISALABAD: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement generated Rs720.78million during February 2017 against the set target of Rs897million and surpassed it by 80 percent.
The customs appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during said period.
According to the statistics available with Customs Today, it received Rs211.96million customs duty against the set target of Rs158million. The collectorate also recovered the target set for sales tax as it collected Rs495.71million against the set target of Rs719million which is by 69 percent.
The customs appraisement also got Rs13.05millions income tax during said period against the set target of Rs20million and surpassed the target by Rs 65%. It collected Rs0.06million federal excise duty (FED).
Customs Appraisement Additional Collector Muhammad Saeed Asad said the customs department has already sent notices to a number of tax defaulters in recent months asking them to clear outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
