Faisalabad Customs fetches Rs4.9m through auction of different items

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Regional Office, Faisalabad Auction Committee has auctioned off impounded vehicles and other smuggled goods after the permission of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and generated the revenue of Rs4.9million through sell-off.

Deputy Director (DD) Rana Irfan Shouqat said that, during different anti-smuggling activities, the Customs Intelligence had taken into possession smuggled items under the Transit Trade Route from GT Road, M1, M2, M3 Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sumandri and shifted them to the State Warehouse.

The intelligence authority has registered cases of impounded goods and referred them to the Adjudication Department for proceeding. After the conclusion of proceeding of the cases, the court announced the judgment in favor of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad.

Deputy Director Irfan Shouqat told Customs Today that various parties participated in the bids of auction but only four ones offered attracted prices while foreign origin spare parts were auctioned against the value of Rs451576, foreign origin caps and handkerchiefs Rs47300, imported batteries Rs852500 and plastic powder of Iran made were done against the price of Rs3.6million.

It is to mention here that the Customs Intelligence has already expedited its efforts to generate more revenue to meet the assigned target of the current Fiscal Year 2018.

The auction was held at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Office, Amin Town, Canal Road, Faisalabad. Deputy Director Irfan Shouqat supervised the auction. He said the auction will strengthen the revenue generation of the directorate.
