Faisalabad Customs following effective strategy to control tax evasion: Deputy Collector Pirzada Omar Qasmi

FAISALABAD: Collector  Customs Faisalabad Zulfiqar Ali Choudhary has suspended the license of M/s Ashraf Custom Clearing and Forwarding Agency as the company is found involved in tax evasion and caused a loss of Rs 1,278,98 to national kitty. Sources said that these consignments were cleared through Faisalabad Dry Port.

Talking to Customs Today, Deputy Collector Pirzada Omar Qasmi said that the customs collectorates has adopted different strategies to curb tax evasion region. He said that people are using different ways for tax evasion. He said this act is also causing huge loss to national kitty.

Deputy Collector Omar Qasmi said that Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) staff has also been instructed to point out the dumping places for smuggled goods. He said customs department is keeping a vigil eye on them and actions are taken promptly whenever any information about the smuggling bid is received. Our mission is to stop evading tax and eliminate smuggling through concerted efforts.

We would not allow importers to conduct any illegal activity including mis-declaration of consignment of goods and evasion of duty and taxes. Customs officials would also be punished if they are found involved in any corrupt practice. He said that ustoms officials should remain devoted to their duties and avoid involving themselves in any illegal activity.

The customs team which impounded the above said containers includes  Superintendent Saeed Akhtar Joya, Inspector Masood Saeed Chohan, Rai Waqar Ahmed, Rai Khalid Javed, Khalid Ashraf Noor, Ali Zahid take part inthe raid.
