Faisalabad Customs generates Rs 5.72m through auction

FAISALABAD: Customs Faisalabad authorities generated an amount of Rs 5.72 million through auction of smuggled goods. The auction was held in the premises of Customs Collectorate Faisalabad office.

Sources told Customs Today that 87 different items were offered for bid but only 19 items attracted suitable bid. While the remaining lots were rejected by the bidders.

The items which were presented for auction includes foreign origin  cloth, Indian black tea, auto parts, fax machine and referagator, smuggled ceramic tiles, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Vitz car, Toyota Hiace van and others vehicles. Sources aid only two vehicles were sold with suitable price in open bids Toyota Hilux surf Model 1996 sold Rs 1080000 and Tpyota Corolla car model 2003 were sold Rs 900000. Sources said that Rs 3744700 were generated by selling different smuggled goods.
