Faisalabad Customs generates Rs2.331m through auction in September

FAISALABAD: The Customs Collectorate authorities collected Rs23,31,000 through auction of smuggled goods during the month of September 2016. The auction was held in the premises of Customs Collectorate Park Dry Port under the supervision of Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair.

Sources told Customs Today that 85 items were offered for auction but only five items attracted suitable prices. The remaining lots were rejected by the bidders.

The items which were presented for auction includes foreign origin cloth, Indian black tea, auto parts, fax machines smuggled ceramic tiles, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Mark-X car, Toyota Hiace van and others different types of  vehicles.

Sources said only one vehicle Toyota Mark-X  was sold with suitable price of Rs10,30,000 while four other lots were generated Rs 13,01,000 by selling different smuggled goods.
