Faisalabad Customs impounds smuggled cloth

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs has seized smuggled cloth worth Rs 360,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Ms. Azmat Tahira received information regarding smuggling of the cloth.

She constituted a raiding team comprising of Muhammad Tahir Iqbal (Senior Intelligance officer),  Muhammad Saleem, Main Muhammad Yousaf (intelligance officer), Mukhtar Ahmed, Muhammad Sikander, Ghulam Ghous, Muhammal Iqbal (sepoys). The customs team seized the cloths near Motorway Chowk Toll Plaza Sargodha Road Faisalabad.

The customs team asked owner of the clothes who was identified as Rai Mohammad Iqbal Khan son of Muhammad Iqbal and Waheed Ullah son of Asadullah to produce legal documents regarding possession of the cloths, but they failed to provide the same.

After their failure customs authorities seized the cloths and registered a case of smuggling against accused persons.
