Faisalabad customs impounds vehicles & goods valued Rs39m in April

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad Range Office impounded vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs39million during April of ongoing fiscal year 2017-18.

Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad Range Office Zulfiqar Younas carried out various anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles in the territory on the directions of Director General (DG), Shaukat Ali.

During above said period, Faisalabad Region’s Customs Intelligence teams registered 10 seizures during anti-smuggling campaign in the jurisdiction. There were three seizures of detected Mazda truck, miscellaneous goods, and F/O used computers worth Rs08.5million by Field Investigation Unit (FIU) Khushab throughout April.

The Field Intelligence Unit of Sara-e-Muhajir executed only one seizure cases of smuggled cotton and polyester worth Rs01.00million in their anti-smuggling activities in January. Nine different contraband goods valued Rs21.6million were impounded by the Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation in the month of April.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Director has enhanced the monitoring of movement of goods and vehicles at Khushab, Sara-e-Muhajir, and Sargodha to curtail smuggling. Director Zulfiqar Younas has enhanced the cooperation with other law enforcement agencies to curb the menace of smuggling from his jurisdiction.
