Faisalabad Customs Intelligence confiscates ceramic tiles

FAISALABAD: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence Faisalabad has seized various cartons of smuggled ceramic tiles worth Rs 379,395 involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 230,983.

As per details, the Customs Intelligence team, acting upon information conveyed through Additional Director Muhammad Ismail, raided a godown and recovered Iranian ceramic tile of different sizes and brands.

Officials asked the accused person namely Muhammad Sher resident of Zafar Colony, Sargodha to produce any evidence showing the legal import and lawful possession of the vehicle.

But he could not produce any documents on which Customs Intelligence took custody of the items and served notice upon the accused.

After a considerable passage of time no one appeared before the competent authority to prove its legal import that led to the seizure of the items.

Deputy Director Riaz Hussain, Superintendent Fareedud-Din Masood, Intelligence officer Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Mansoor Nasir, Saeed Khan and others took part in operation.
